Opportunities for Employment

Join the Camp Chris Stone team for Summer 2025!​
We're excited to offer two opportunities:
Counselors in Training and Junior Counselors.
 
The Counselor in Training position is an unpaid leadership development role, perfect for gaining valuable experience about our day to day routines.
Junior Counselors, on the other hand, will receive a stipend for their contributions as part of our dedicated Camp Chris Stone Staff. Both roles provide an incredible chance to grow, lead, and make a lasting impact on our campers' summer experience!

Counselors in Training Requirements

To qualify as a Counselor in Training at Camp Chris Stone, applicants must meet the following requirements:
 

  • Be at least 13 years of age by June 1, 2025.

  • ​Have attended Camp Chris Stone as a camper for a minimum of two summers.

  • Provide two letters of recommendation from individuals other than a parent or guardian. These can include teachers, church leaders, volunteer supervisors, or similar references. These letters can be emailed to campchrisstone@gmail.com.

  • Have prior experience working with children, such as babysitting or assisting with programs like Vacation Bible School. 

  • Attendance at mandatory Camp Chris Stone meetings, whether in person or virtual.

  • Be available to attend at least half of the sessions for the Summer 2025 season.

The Counselor in Training role is designed for responsible, enthusiastic individuals ready to develop leadership skills while contributing to a fun and supportive camp environment!

Note: Counselors in Training must complete two summers in the role before becoming eligible to advance to the Junior Counselor position. This requirement ensures that Counselors in Training gain the necessary experience, skills, and confidence to take on greater responsibilities as part of the Camp Chris Stone family.

Junior Counselor Requirements

In addition to meeting the requirements for Counselors in Training, Junior Counselor applicants must:
 

  • Be at least 15 years old by June 1, 2025.

  • If they have not attended Camp Chris Stone as a camper for a minimum of two summers, they must submit an additional letter of recommendation from individuals other than a parent or guardian.

  • Be outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic about interacting with young children, fostering positive relationships, and creating a fun and supportive camp environment.

  • Have a basic understanding of procedures to handle potential emergencies, such as treating minor cuts, responding to allergic reactions, and managing other common situations that may arise during camp activities.

  • Be available to attend at least half of the sessions for the Summer 2025 season.

Junior Counselors are key to ensuring campers have a memorable and safe summer, and we're excited to welcome individuals who embody these qualifications to our Camp Chris Stone team.
